Attractive mural inspired by ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 4: Tata Steel Tubes Division has created a mural painting on their boundary wall, next to the Main Gate, inspired by the Government of India’s initiative of “Jal Jeevan Mission”.

 The mural painting was inaugurated on April 4 by Rajiv Mangal, Vice President, Safety, Health & Sustainability and Sanjay S Sahni, Executive-in-Charge (Tubes). The occasion was graced by Shailesh Kumar Singh, Deputy President, Tata Workers’ Union (TWU), Satish Kumar Singh, General Secretary, TWU and other members of TWU, Tubes Division Union Committee members and senior officials & employees of Tubes Division.

“Jal Jeevan Mission” is a Government of India initiative to provide safe and adequate drinking water supply to every rural household in India by 2024. State Governments and Union Territories are working effectively to provide Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTCs) to every rural household and implementing ‘Har Ghar Jal Yojana’ at grass-root level. The mission was launched in August 2019 when only 16.66% of rural households has tap water connections. By March 2023, approximately 59.27 per cent of rural households have been provided with tap water connections.

Tata Steel Tubes Division is proud to contribute significantly towards this nation building exercise and has supplied over 38 KT of high-quality GI Pipes over the last 2 years. The major supplies have been done in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh. Through these supplies, Tubes Division has impacted over 15 lakh households.
