Jamshedpur: The 58-year-old trader Kailash Agrawal is recovering from his condition. He was undergoing treatment for his gun-shot injury at Tata Main Hospital’s critical care unit (CCU) and now shifted to the hospital high dependency unit (HDU).
In view of the trader�s serious condition, state minister Saryu Rai today paid a visit to TMH to see the victim. He directed the authorities concerned to ensure best possible treatment for the victim.
The temporary shifting of the gun-shot injured was carried out on Saturday after remarkable improvement was noticed in his condition though the pellet is still trapped inside his mouth.
Though the condition of the gun-shot victim has improved considerably, there is no progress in the investigation into the circumstances which led three armed criminals shot at and critically injured him at his house in Subhas Colony in Mango in the morning a week ago.
More than one team of police officials are busy in finding out the culprits involved in the crime, but have not been succeeded to detect the attackers although the former have the CCTV footage of two of the three criminals.
Officer-in-charge, Mango police station, Budhram Oraon said the mystery behind the gun-shot attack on trader Kailash Agrawal will be unfolded only when the victim himself and his wife Manju Agrawal as well as his daughter-in-law Puja will give statement to the police.
“We are yet to find out the criminals who entered at Agrawal’s house at Subhas Colony in Mango on January 30 morning. So far we have concluded that the attack was not intended to commit loot as the armed criminals did not take anything even after inflicting grievous gun-shot injury to Agrawal. But we suspect the criminals must have attacked the trader due to rangdaari,” said deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-I) KN Mihsra.
The DSP who is also a part of the investigation said that Agrawal would stay along with his three brothers at Tank Road in Mango. Agrawal who has two shops at Mango market bought a new single-storeyed house at Subhas Colony four years ago. He bought the house at Rs 20 lakh. Undoubtedly, those criminals who attacked him must have made some extortion demand and when he refused to oblige, they came and shot at him,” said Mishra.
The three criminals , who entered over the house of trader Kailash Agrawal at Subhas Colony in Mango on Monday morning, had also visited the same house three days ago, requesting to stay on rent.
Another section of police officer maintains that there must be some family link to the gun-shot attack on Agrawal, but they are focussing on the loot angle at the first instance.
Notably, Agrawal was injured when a gang of three armed youths barged into his house, located at the extreme corner of Road No 3 in densely-populated Subhas Colony. The criminals had shot at Agrawal, causing him to get seriously injured, but the reason behind such a crime taken place in Mango.
