Jamshedpur : The condition of Ratnesh Raj, manager, Tata Steel remains critical a day after he was shot at in Ghorabandha area under the jurisdiction of Govindpur police. The city police are looking into different angles, but have not reached any conclusive lead yet.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Amol V Homkar along with other senior police officials visited the site to carry out a detailed inspection of the site of occurrence. The SSP Mr. Homkar said that they have also launched a drive to trace the culprits, but are yet to find any clue about the motive behind the attack.
Meanwhile, the City SP Mr. Karthik and the DSP (city) Mr. Chowdhury today visited Ratnesh’s residence and took possession of his cell phone for investigation purpose. The police will scan the call details to ascertain the reasons for the attack.

Sources said that the victim’s kins are on their way to Jamshedpur from Patna in Bihar. The police will also interrogate them.
The pre-meditated attack on a Tata Steel officer has sent shock-waves throughout the city and the corporate circles, as it is the second such incident within a month in which an officer of a Tata Group company has been targeted.
It may be recalled that on February 22, 2014, an AGM of TML Drivelines ( a subsidiary of Tata Motors), Brajesh Sahay, was shot dead in Nildih area in Telco by some unidentified assailants. The police have not been able to crack that case yet.
The victim Ratnesh Raj (28), manager, equipment maintenance service department at Tata Steel was attacked while he was getting down from his car near his residence. He received several bullet injuries.
In the first news reports, The Avenue Mail had erroneously mentioned the designation of the victim as a VP of the company. However, the victim Mr. Ratnesh Raj is a manager in the company.�
Yesterday’s attack took place when Ratnesh, a resident of flat near Tube Makers Club at Nildih, was on his way to meet his dentist friend, Anand Kumar at that apartment. Soon after being shot, he was rushed to Tata Motors Hospital’s emergency ward.
However, Tuesday afternoon Ratnesh was shifted to the Tata Main Hospital in Bistupur for better treatment.
Sources said two bike-borne assailants had shot at Ratnesh. His car has also been damaged in the shooting incident.
