ATS attaches property of suspected Al Qaida operative Kalimuddin in Jamshedpur


Attachment carried out in Jawaharnagar, search on for Kalim and his son

Jamshedpur: A team of Anti terrorism squad (ATS) members carried out attachment proceedings at the residence of suspected Al Qaida operative Maulana Kalimuddin alias Kaleem in Jahur Bagan area of Jawaharnagar, Mango, on Saturday.

Maulana is reportedly an associate of Naseem Akhtar alias Raju and Abdul Masood, a resident of Dhatkidih.
The ATS team entered into Kaleemís house by breaking the lock of his flat and confiscated several articles including old books, receipts and other household items. The team also took away a ceiling fan and a washing machine from the house, sources said.

Sources claimed Maulana Kaleem had removed his household articles before the attachment proceedings. Leading the ATS team, DSP Avadh Kumar reached the house and ordered the commandoes to round up the building from all sides. Soon the commandoes went up to the roof and took the entire building in their control.

Accompanied by Inspector Amarjeet Prasad and the OC of Azadnagar police station Anjani Tiwary, the ATS officials carried out the attachment proceeding. The ATS DSP said Maulana Kaleem was booked for having association with Al Qaida. An FIR has been lodged against Kaleem by the Bistupur police, he said.

City police got the attachment orders issued on 5th October 2015 by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate of Jamshedpur after Kaleem remained absconding for several days. The ATS team is searching for Kaleem and his son in connection with their terrorist activities, sources said.
