Jamshedpur: The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was celebrated with fervour near Basant Central at Sakchi on Wednesday. It was organized under the aegis of Atal Vichar Vahini, a city-based outfit inspired by late Vajpayee. Former activists of Jan Sangh period were felicitated on this occasion. Social worker Amarpreet Singh Kale paid floral tributes to late Vajpayee at the inaugural session.

Speaking as the chief guest, Kale said he had joined the BJP after being inspired by late Vajpayee. He said he followed the teachings and ideology of the former PM and achieved great satisfaction in implementing them. He appealed to one and all to follow in the footsteps of the former statesman. He said he was fortunate to have seen and met late Vajpayee in his lifetime.
Many others were present during the programme. They included Sriram Pandey Bhargava, Muralidhar Barnwal, Ram Rekha Singh, Yamuna Tiwary Vyathit, Dhaneshwar Tiwary, Ram Nivas Mishra, Ram Naresh Mishra, Krishna Dutt Pandey, Kailash Jha, Ramkeval Mishra, Munna Choubey, Mohan Lal Agrawal, Jaswant Singh and Pramila Sharma.
