Jamshedpur: Members of the women and child committee of Jharkhand Assembly today visited the child reformation centre and found the state of affairs below satisfaction level.
The committee found that the juvenile delinquents had not yet been given blankets. The children had only been given bedsheets.
The committee members inspected the entire centre and also talked to the children and staff. They said the purpose of their visit was to find out if the children were being treated with dignity and care as prescribed by the law.
The committee members said the hygiene level was not satisfactory. They said the centre had an excess number of women inmates in the jail. Separate courts should be held for disposal of cases of such women, they said.
