Aspiring Jamshedpur IITians appear for JEE Advanced exam, result on Oct 5

Jamshedpur, Sept. 27: Aspiring IITians appeared for the JEE Advance examination on Sunday in Jamshedpur. Students were seen arriving at three test centers in Jamshedpur- ION Digital on Dimna Road, RVS Engineering College in NH 33, Bhilai Pahari, and Al-Kabir Polytechnic in Mango.

The exam was conducted in online mode.

The second slot exam was held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The paper 1 exam was held from 9 am to 12 noon. Over 1.6 lakh students appeared for the entrance exam this year.

JEE-Advanced 2020 was held across 222 cities and over 1,000 exam centres this year. In order to avoid overcrowding at the centre and to ensure the implementation of other safety norms, candidates were given staggered reporting time.

This year, only 64% of the students eligible to appear for the JEE- Advanced are registered for the examination in 2020.



Provisional answer key for the exam will be released on September 29 after which the candidates will be allowed to challenge any wrong answer key.

JEE?Advanced 2020 final answer key and the results will be declared on October 5 after which the joint seat allocation authority also known as JoSAA will start online counselling and seat allotment process.


The entire examination area and its surroundings were sanitized before each shift. Monitors, keyboards, icons, webcams, desks, and chairs were also sanitized.

As per government guidelines students are made to sit in a gap of two seats.

Hand sanitizer is kept for students and staff outside the examination center (entry point) and at many places inside.
