Jamshedpur, Oct 9: It is so depressing and irritating when �nasty pranksters� use the social media to spread false information; it is equally bad that gullible people fall prey to such malicious information and forward such atrocious and irrelevant messages to others linked to their connectivity.

Since Navami Day, October 7, the unfortunate and vile news of the sudden demise of social worker and former legislator Arvind �Malkhan� Singh was being propagated by unethical scums on the social media and the news was spreading like wild fire. Those receiving and forwarding such irresponsible messages did not even have the prudence to enquire the facts. As the office of The Avenue Mail resumed publication today after a leave of two days, calls started pouring in from all quarters regarding the demeaning news. The news room and news people who had been receiving such information since October 7 found Arvind Singh to be hale and hearty which removed a great weight from the chest. Malkhan�s family does not want to speak about which mischief monger started it all.

All the other media houses have been receiving calls from a multitude of citizens. And why not? Arvind Singh is a much revered citizen who is a social worker who has been working in his own silent way to alleviate the pains of the financial bottom liners. Being a patron of Jairam Youth Sporting Club Puja Committee, he has been engineering wonderful pandal construction schemes based on relevant social themes through the years to the awe, admiration and reverence of devotees and throngs of pandal hoppers from the city as well as far flung places.
