Jamshedpur, Oct 12: The Open Arm Wrestling Tournament – Season One was successfully organized under the aegis of Elite Gym, located at Telco Ghorabandha, Jamshedpur. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 75 athletes competing in six different weight categories, making it a grand sporting occasion.
The tournament was inaugurated at 8:30 a.m. by Vijay Singh, President of the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand, who graced the event as the Chief Guest. Among the distinguished guests were international athletes Gurdev Singh, S.K. Tomar, and Rajendra Patil, along with former District Sports Coordinator Shyam Sharma and social worker Sidesh Singh. The guests appreciated the initiative and encouraged the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship.

The competition featured four weight categories. In the 45–55 kg group, Ishu Mishra secured first place, followed by Saurav Kumar Patro and Vardhan Kumar. In the 55–65 kg category, Ishu Delane claimed the top position, while Nitik Gupta and Prithvi Kumar stood second and third. The 65–75 kg category saw Swaranjeet Poddar take first prize, with Suraj Kumar Chand and Anmol Singh finishing second and third. In the 85+ kg category, Arpan Kumar won first place, followed by Sandkar Pandey and Souvik Mandal.
The highlight of the event was the “Champion of Champions” title, which went to Arpan Kumar for his outstanding performance.

The competition was smoothly coordinated under the leadership of Secretary Rohan Kumar, who expressed gratitude to the athletes, officials, and spectators for their enthusiastic participation. He also thanked the guests for their presence and support. Technical officials Geet Raj Singh, Ansh Kumar, and Kumar Sen contributed to the successful conduct of the tournament, which concluded with a vote of thanks and a spirit of celebration.
