Army jawan posted at Indo-China border killed in road mishap near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur,  Jan 5: An Indian Army jawan deployed in Indo-China border died in a road mishap near Baliasai under Rajnagar thana of Seraikela-Kharsawan district in a collision between SUV and an unidentified vehicle on Monday afternoon while four persons were also injured in the same accident.

The deceased jawan has been identified as Sahdev Munda (26), a native of Kalabera under Jamda thana in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha while four injured are Surai Murmu (16) of Kalabera village, Gauchand Murmu (26), Rajmal Tuddu (20) and Sukhda Tuddu (25) all from Jarkani village of Mayurbhanj district. The injured have been admitted at MGM Hospital for better treatment.

According to relative of the deceased jawan, Dularam Munda, the jawan who was unmarried was deployed in India-China border and had come few days before on leave to his native village and had come with five of his friends to Rajnagar to attend a function of a friend on a SUV and the mishap took place while they were returning home to Odisha when an unidentified vehicle coming from Chaibasa struck them from front on the Hata-Chaibasa Main Road.

The unidentified vehicle escaped from the spot after the mishap while the injured were taken to hospital on another vehicle coming from behind. They were rushed to the nearest Rajnagar community health centre where doctors declared Sahdev Munda as brought dead and referred the injured to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur for better treatment.

Rajnagar police handed over the body of the jawan to the relatives after conduct of post mortem.
