Jamtara: A cautionary tale unfolded at 7 a.m. on Tuesday as two masked men executed a daring armed robbery at the residence of government servant Gautam Kumar Choubey, near the DDC residence. The victim, Jyoti Vandana, revealed that the robbery occurred shortly after she had recently installed an internet connection to run the television at home.
The perpetrators, threatening the family with a pistol, absconded with three mobile phones, a bundle of one-rupee notes, and the couple’s valuable belongings. Strangely, the robbers left behind a bag containing a company’s Wi-Fi and internet connection. The police recovered an ID card from the abandoned bag, potentially belonging to the internet connection installer.
Gautam Kumar Choubey recounted the harrowing incident, describing how the armed men entered the premises after a morning call, brandishing a pistol. Tying him up and threatening his family, the robbers made a swift escape on a motorcycle, cautioning the victims against reporting the incident.
