Armed criminals loot Rs 16.31 lakh from CKP’s Allahabad Bank

Jamshedpur, May 16: In a shocking incident, a gang of four armed criminals today looted Rs 16.31 lakh from Allahabad Bank’s Chakradharpur branch in West Singhbhum district.

The criminals had enter over the bank at a time while the director general of police ( DGP), Jharkhand, DK Pandey was holding a meeting with top police officers and CRPF at the local circuit house in Chaibasa, the headquarters of West Singhbhum district, on crime scenario and naxal problem in the three districts of Kolhan.

The criminals first assaulted the armed guard of the bank and snatched his rifle. After taking the guard, Birendra Boipai, under their control they entered into the manager’s chamber and subsequently swooped over the cash section from where they stuffed Rs 16.31 in a bag and then fled the spot.

West Singhbhum superintendent of police, Anish Gupta said all the four looters were armed. He said the manager was so scared that he did not press the alarm.

The SP said they have a CCTV footage of the four looters while they were entering into the bank and fleeing, but they have no footage of the bank’s inside as the criminals have taken away the CCTV’s DVR along.
