Jamshedpur, Feb 14: Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda’s private secretary’s son Rohit Kumar committed suicide at his residence in Telco late last night.
The deceased was the elder son of Shiv Kumar, the private secretary, and was suffering from depression from the past few days. The suicide was committed in Shiv Kumar’s Sector Market residence. Kumar’s younger son is based in Delhi pursuing higher studies.
According to information, after having dinner, Rohit locked himself in a room from the inside like he used to do every night while going to bed. However, this morning he did not open it at his usual time. Due to the delay in opening the door, the family members got worried.
They first knocked at the door but when there was no response from inside they broke open the door to find him hanging from an iron rod. He was already dead.
Telco police station OC, Ran Vijay Sharma confirmed it to be a case of suicide but still, he sent the body to the MGM medical college mortuary for postmortem.
“As per the information gathered, the deceased was mentally disturbed for the past few months and undergoing treatment in depression,” said the OC. People in large numbers gathered at Kumar’s residence as the news spread.
