Union Minister and dignitaries pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Seraikela, Oct 2: A host of programmes were organized in Seraikela under Swachhata Hi Seva campaign on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi�s 150th birth anniversary. Union Minister Arjun Munda, Ichagarh MLA Sadhucharan Mahato and other dignitaries garlanded a bust of Mahatma Gandhi at Seraikela old bus stand and inaugurated the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Munda said all citizens should play their role in making plastic-free and Swachh Bharat. He said everyone should boycott single-use plastics in daily life.
The speakers appealed to people to use jute or cloth bags. Several eco-friendly bags were distributed by the guests among the people. As a part of the cleanliness campaign, Arjun Munda and other dignitaries cleaned the local Haat pond.
The dignitaries included Seraikela Nagar Panchayat president Meenakshi Patnayak and Rajeev Ranjan Singh.
