Arjun Munda inaugurates record-breaking 18,500 sq. ft. Lord Ram Rangoli in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan 22: Union Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Minister, Arjun Munda, inaugurated a colossal 18,500 square feet rangoli depicting Lord Ram in the courtyard of Golmuri Cable Town Shri Laxminarayan Temple. The stunning creation by Adityapur artist Vivek Mishra was unveiled on Monday, marking a historic moment and setting a new world record.

Accompanied by dignitaries, including MLA Saryu Roy, Arjun Munda cut the ribbon to inaugurate the rangoli, which now holds the distinction of being the largest in the world. Previously, the record was held by Shikha Sharma of Indore for a 14,000 square feet rangoli.

Vivek Mishra, the artist behind this extraordinary feat, achieved the record by creating the entire rangoli single-handedly. Every moment of the creation process was meticulously captured by four CCTV cameras. Mishra used three tonnes of rangoli in 10 different colors to bring Lord Ram’s depiction to life.

The arrangements for this grand endeavor were overseen by MLA Saryu Roy, the convenor of the Shri Lakshminarayan Temple Renovation Committee, and other devoted community members. The rangoli’s inauguration took place on the occasion of the installation of a temporary statue and the laying of the foundation stone for the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.

Union Minister Arjun Munda presented Vivek Mishra with a certificate from the World Records Book of India, recognizing his remarkable achievement. Munda praised the artist’s dedication and effort, emphasizing that such feats are possible with determined commitment.

Expressing his commendation for MLA Saryu Roy’s initiative in renovating the long-closed temple, Munda highlighted the global significance of the historic moment when Ram Lalla’s consecration took place in Ayodhya. He congratulated the people of Jamshedpur and the entire nation, acknowledging the collective pride in witnessing this historic event.
