Archery training centre inaugurated in Tangrain school

Jamshedpur: An archery training centre was inaugurated on the premises of Upgraded Middle School in Tangrain by the Potka MLA Menka Sardar.

In her address, the MLA said the archery centre would help produce promising archers. She said the school had taken a great initiative to start archery training centre on its premises. She said a boundary wall would soon be constructed to protect the school. Electricity supply would also be provided to the school in the coming days, she said.

Also present on the occasion, international archery trainer Harendra Singh said the state government was running numerous schemes to promote sports in Jharkhand. One of these schemes proposes to open day boarding schools, he said.

Singh praised the school Headmaster Arbind Tiwary for going all out to do innovative things in the school. He said there was no dearth of sports talents in the villages.

Menka Sardar assured to get the proposal for opening day boarding school in Tangrai approved by the state government.

Tiwary said the students will be trained in archery by Anup Kumar.
Among others present during the event included archers Titli Banerjee, Amit Mardi and Raviraj Sharma.
