Jamshedpur: For the first time in the city, the APR Nair Sports Literacy Seminar will be organized on March 24 in Mango’s Jawaharnagar to educate young people about the importance of sports. The initiative was announced by the organizing committee chairman, Dr. Ajay Mishra, and Dr. Afroz Shakeel.
Dr. Ajay Mishra stated that the program aims to divert today’s youth from excessive mobile usage and encourage them to engage in sports. “In the first phase, we are organizing this event in Jawaharnagar. Later, it will be extended zone-wise across the entire Mango area,” he added.
Dr. Afroz Shakeel said that the seminar is being held under the banner of the Aman Welfare Society. The event will focus on guiding young people on how to build a career in sports. International coach Hassan Imam Malik, Firoz Khan, Md Shafiq, Khalid Jameel, international cricketer Saurabh Tiwary, Dronacharya Awardee Purnima Mahato, Harendra Singh, and others have been invited to speak at the seminar.
These sports personalities will provide valuable insights to help youth integrate sports into their daily lives. Organizers Tahir Hussain and Shahid Akhtar emphasized that the event will also address the growing issue of drug addiction among youth, aiming to bring them towards a healthier lifestyle through sports.
