Seraikela, June 23: Seraikela-Kharsawan deputy commissioner K Sriniwasan on Thursday handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to 1984 Anti-Sikh riot victim Harvinder Kaur.
Gamharia resident Harvinder Kaur was assured by the state government of compensation against the deadly riots which left thousands dead across the country after the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was shot dead by his Sikh body guards. �
Also present on the occasion was Satnam Singh Gambhir, president All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) Bihar-Jharkhand chapter.
