Chaibasa, Dec.30: West Singhbhum district administration on Friday launched anti-encroachment drive by removing illegal houses encroached by the people living in poor township of ward number 11 under Chaibasa Municipality.
District congress party activists led by congress party district President Sunny Sinku rushed to the spot following the information and requested the authorities to stop the drive immediately as it is winter season.
Sinku asked the Sadar SDO Dipu Kumar to ensure rehabilitation of people then only remove them. Replying to the same, SDO said, �We are simply following the instruction of the deputy commissioner and the state government.
District congress president threatened to launch massive protest and stage dharna before the DC office from Saturday if the anti-encroachment drive is not stopped.
