Jamshedpur, August 31: The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has levied fines totalling Rs 15,900 as part of its ongoing dengue prevention campaign. The JNAC team has been actively visiting homes and businesses to raise awareness and ensure compliance with dengue prevention measures. This effort is aimed at curbing the spread of dengue by addressing potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

Under the direction of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, a specialized team has been established to oversee the prevention and investigation of dengue cases. The team conducts thorough inspections of water storage containers, such as pots, old tyres, and coolers, to prevent the formation of dengue larvae in stagnant water. A meeting held at the JNAC office on Friday focused on intensifying the campaign and enforcing fines on those who neglect dengue prevention guidelines. Key figures in the meeting included Special Officer Arvind Tirkey, Ajit Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Town Planner Apoorva Tomar, Chetan Lal, City Manager Christina Kachhap, Joy Gudiya, and Prakash Sahu.

Areas such as Bhuiyandih, Baridih, Sakchi, Baradwari, Vijaya Heritage, and Burmamines have been identified as hotspots, with increased cases being reported. The team is checking for mosquito larvae in as many households as possible. When larvae are discovered, anti-mosquito sprays are applied, and fines are issued to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Krishna Kumar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, emphasized, “A dedicated team is working tirelessly to inspect homes and eliminate mosquito larvae. We are committed to preventing the spread of dengue through rigorous enforcement and public education.”
