Anti-corruption bureau recovers Rs 1.25 lakh in one year in Kolhan

Jamshedpur, Jan. 15: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) in its Kolhan Commissionary area during the past one year has recovered Rs 1.25 lakh from the possession of the arrested persons. In all 22 government officials have been arrested.

Superintendent of police (ACB) Dipak Kumar Sinha said that could not say exactly how many of those arrested for taking bribe were convicted in the court of law.

“We have made a mark in the government offices, including police department by arresting corrupt officials on acting on complaints lodged with the ACB during the past one year. Our efforts for nabbing the corrupt officials will continue effectively,” said Sinha while addressing a press conference at the ACB’ Kolhan Commissionary office in Sonari today.

Those arrested include Shankar Ram revenue official, posted at Circle office in Bahragora block, East Singhbhum, Nageswar Birua and Shashikant Ram, both posted at the additional registrar office, Chaibasa, West Singhbhum, Ram Kumar Jha, drug inspector, Jamshedpur, Chetan Verma, City Manager, Chakulia, Binay Kumar Verma, accountant, Jugsalai Municipality, Nirmal Kumar Bhagat and Arjun Gope, clerks, Fishery department, Chaibasa, Ratan Singh Munda and Shiv Shankar Samal, clerks, ACB.
