Jamshedpur: Former Chief Minister and leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly today said the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) proposed to be formed by BJPs opposition parties will be rejected by the people of the state.

He said such alliance could not be formed with the support of the people since the sole objective behind such a coming together of the various anti-BJP parties was to reap political benefits.

Speaking to scribes after attending a party programme at Sakchi, Munda said the anti-BJP parties had witnessed their true status and sensed the mood of the people in the Lok Sabha elections this year. He said the alliance was being formed for the allocation of seats and not the development of the state, adding that the BJP was sure to win the Assembly election with absolute majority.

Many political parties who were against alliance till before few days are now eyeing for opportunities to strike an alliance or negotiate terms with other parties ahead of the Assembly elections. This speaks volumes of the insincerity and selfishness of the parties other than the BJP. The voters are watching it all and they are going to rebuff the pretenders, said Munda.

Munda later alleged that there were still several tainted ministers in the state Cabinet after the resignation of agriculture minister Yogendra Sao who quit his post following the expose pertaining to his alleged links with Naxalites. He said Chief Minister Hemant Soren was fully aware of the fact and that he should also be removed from his post.

Meanwhile, talking on the Make in India campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Munda said Jharkhand could gain maximum benefits of the campaign since the state had rich natural and human resources. He said tourism and Information Technology sectors had immense possibilities of growth in the state.
