Chaibasa, Sept 27: An encounter took place between police and the squad of PLFI commander Dinesh Gope on Monday in Temna forest under Gudri police station area of West Singhbhum district.
On information about the presence of PLFI militants, Jharkhand Jaguar along with Chaibasa and Khunti district police were conducting a search operation in the area.
During this, there was an encounter with the police in the forest located near Temna on Monday morning with the squad of PLFI leader Dinesh Gope. Firing took place on the spot for half an hour from both sides. Seeing the police getting an upper hand, the militants managed to escape by taking advantage of the forest hill.
After this, during the search operation, one carbine rifle, live cartridges, empty cartridges, 29 mobile phones, 10 rucksacks, levy demand form of PLFI organization, donation receipt were recovered. At present, the search operation is going on in the area. West Singhbhu SP Ajay Linda and Additional SP Nathu Singh Meena confirmed the encounter.
