Baharagora: The 128th Birth Anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and 100 years of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre were observed by staff, teachers and students of TPS DAV Public School in the institution�s premises. Respects were paid and floral tributes offered on the occasion.
Student Shaubhik Mahapatra elaborated on the life and work of Dr Ambedkar. Teacher LN Sao detailed the heinous killings ordered by General Dyer at Jallianwala Bagh of hundreds of Sikhs celebrating the Baisakhi festival. The school principal while offering tributes to the Jallianwala Bagh victims asked students to emulate the traits of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
Although Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on April 14 and the Jallianwala Bagh massacre day is observed on April 13, the School observed both the occasions today as Ram Nawami and Sunday are holidays. All students and teachers were present on the occasion.
