Alleged child-lifter lifter sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail, FIR filed

Jamshedpur, July 12 : The alleged child-lifter, Ashish Mukhi who was arrested at Zakirnagar under Azadnagar police station� area in Mango late last nightwas today sent to Ghaghidih� Central Jail .

A resident  ofDhatkidih in Bistupur, Ashish was first taken to MGM Medical College and Hospital for medical examination and was produced in the court of first class judicial magistrate Satyabhama Kumari  today before he was  sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail.

In this connection, the police have registered a case on the basis of an FIR lodged by RizwanaPerveen, mother of an eight-year-old boy, Mohammed Taha whom Ashish was allegedly abducted from Zakirnagar in Azadnagar last night.

In the FIR, Rizwana has stated that she had sent her son for bringing some goods from the shop, but the accused lured him and tried to take him to Pardih. Following which local residents brought him to the Azadnagar police station and handed him over to the police.

As the news of a stranger trying to steal a boy spread in the densely-populated Zakirnagar area, a large number of people turned up at the Azadnagar police station and demanded the police to take stern action against the accused.

The accused was brought to the police station by 8.30 pm and by 9.30 about 500 residents gathered outside it and were getting increasingly belligerent, some of them asking the police to hand over the accused to the crowd. But by that time a large contingent of police arrived there followed by senior SP, AnoopBirtharay. The senior SP subsequently deployed adequate number of armed police at the Azadnagarpolice station  in view of the tense situation prevailing there.

On the other hand, the accused claimed him to be innocent and said he has been wrongly implicated in a case of child-lifting.
