Allegations against Banna Gupta not political but social and criminal: Saryu Roy

Jamshedpur, May 12: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai criticized State Congress President Rajesh Thakur’s statement on the obscene video chat involving Health Minister Banna Gupta and the possession of a banned pistol. He called Thakur’s remarks on the matter as laughable and said that the issue is social and criminal. Rai added that the woman involved in the video chat had alleged that her chat with her husband was tagged with the minister but the truth will only be revealed after an investigation. Rai also clarified that he had no involvement in the investigation of the matter and called for the investigating officers to uncover the truth.

Information on action sought from Addl. Chief Secretary of Kolkata
MLA Saryu Rai has sought information regarding the possession of a banned pistol by a minister of the Jharkhand government. He has cited a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, which states that versions 21 and 44 of Glock pistol are banned. The MLA has sent a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary of Kolkata seeking information about the action taken by the Kolkata administration regarding the said pistol. In his letter, the MLA has asked whether the seller firm, J Vishwas & Company of Kolkata has a license to sell firearms and how the banned pistol was sold without a proof test. He has also sent a copy of the letter to the Home Secretary of the Government of India, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Jharkhand, and the Principal Secretary of the Home Department.

MLA Saryu Rai has questioned the role of Minister Banna Gupta and the main opposition party in the Shastri Nagar violence case. He mentioned that some members of the BJP in Jamshedpur are seen supporting the government. The MLA believes that the opposition’s role in both cases is questionable, and when the Sarvajan Hindu Samiti became ready to take action in the Shastri Nagar violence case, the people who boasted of being part of the so-called Hinduist party retreated. MLA Saryu Rai also plans to use the platform of Sarvajan Hindu Samiti to reveal the truth in this matter to the whole state. Additionally, he mentioned that he has made a complaint to the Governor in the Banna Gupta episode and is preparing a charge sheet in the whole matter, which he plans to hand over to the government.

MLA Saryu Rai’s comments about corruption in Jharkhand and the recent land scam in Ranchi highlight the pervasive nature of corruption in the state.
