Jamshedpur, July 25: Sanjay Palsania who is a close associate of gangster Akhilesh Singh, presently lodged in Dumka Central Jail has been accused of threatening local social activist.
Amidst ongoing furor over lawyer’s murder at Birsanagar in sequel to an enmity with a land mafia, a local social activist has lodged a petition with the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner seeking an enquiry into land-grabbing activities in Birsanagar.
The social activist Jairam Singh Munda (34) lodged a petition on Friday, leading the victim to once again approach the DC on Saturday, informing them about the threat on his life. As a result of which the DC, Suraj Kumar instructed the police to probe the complaint as it is very sensitive in nature.
Inspector Manoj Kumar Thakur of Sidhgora thana who has started investigation into the case on Saturday said that Munda had raised Palsania’s land grabbing activity in Birsanagar.
Palsania has built a residential complex at Zone No 2 in Birsanagar and the land on which the complex stands belongs to the government. Apart from the construction of residential flats on encroached land, Palsania has allegedly done boundry on government land at more than one spot in Birsanagar, which has emerged as a hotspot for the land grabber.
The OC said as Palsania (42) is physically-handicapped they did not summon him to come to the police station for the grilling and instead deputed a sub-inspector of police for interrogating him at his house in Telco Gwala Bustee.
The police will probe Palsania who owns a mini-steel plant at Chandil beside other business in the city on the basis of the audio clipping that Munda has provided to the administration as evidence of the abduction threat.
