Jamshedpur : The district AJSU activists led by party MLA Ramchandra Sahis today staged massive demonstration for several hours demanding proper water supply in various localities including slums, which falls.
The party activists including residents of different slums, in large numbers first assembled at the DC office. The agitators carrying party flags and banners shouted slogans against the administration they also broke earthen pots.
“It is a matter of great concern that almost all the slums face crisis of drinking water and electricity . Moreover, unhygienic condition prevails in the slums in the absence of cleanliness and proper upkeep. It is a serious issue hence we decided to protest against administration, which looks after the municipal and allied services, ” said Sahis.
“Moreover Tata Steel’s expansion has resulted in an increased traffic of heavy vehicles in the city. The heavy vehicles cause air pollution as well as result in frequent mishaps. The company should initiate necessary steps to ensure that the pollution is checked, ” pointed out the Ajsu leader.
Later a delegation led by Sahis and another senior party leaders met the DC and handed over him a memorandum highlighting their demands.
