Jamshedpur: The newly released film “Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi” generated buzz in Jamshedpur on Sunday after co-star Ajay Mengi and producer Ritu Mengi shared insights about the film and its message with the local media.
Ajay Mengi, who plays Raghu in the movie, said the film follows the remarkable journey of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath—from his childhood and spiritual renunciation to his entry into politics. “The role of Raghu adds emotional depth to the story, which is essentially about sacrifice, discipline, and determination,” he said.
The cast includes Anant Joshi as Yogi Adityanath, Paresh Rawal as Mahant Avaidyanath, along with Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua,’ Pawan Malhotra, Garima Vikrant Singh, Rajesh Khattar, Sarwar Ahuja, and Bhagwan Tiwari in strong supporting roles.
Producer Ritu Mengi underlined that the project carries no political motive. “This is not propaganda. The intention behind the film is to present the inspiring life of a true yogi and karmayogi. It is a story that speaks to people across generations,” she told reporters.
While acknowledging that the film has triggered political debates in some quarters, the makers urged audiences to view it as an inspirational biography. “We believe young people will take away lessons of discipline, service, and perseverance,” Ajay Mengi said.
The meet concluded with both Ajay and Ritu Mengi expressing hope that “Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi” will not only resonate with audiences but also secure its place as one of Indian cinema’s most inspirational films.
