Aishi of Sacred Heart Convent, Abhishek of Hill Top School adjudged Best Speakers at ASISC zonal debate competition

KPS Kadma hosts ASISC zonal debate competition

Jamshedpur, Aug 6: Aishi Singh of Sacred Heart Convent School has been declared the best speaker in junior category (Classes IX and X) in the ASISC zonal level debate competition organised by Kerala Public School, Kadma, on Saturday, August 6.

Dhrumil Patra of Hill Top School was crowned the first runner-up and Arushi Sinha of Sacred Heart Convent School bagged the third position.

In the Senior Category (Classes XI and XII) Abhishek Mendiratta of Hill Top School received the best speaker award. Arpita Gupta of Hill Top School was crowned the first runner-up while Aditya Thakur of Loyola School was placed third.

Three best speakers have qualified for the regional level.

Topic for junior category was Time for “Cursive Handwriting” to go the way of the “Chisel and Stone” because the keyboard is mightier than the pen.

For seniors the topic was “Gender Transitioning” is meddling with nature and should be banned.

Contestants expressed their views and arguments skillfully and convincingly. Their exemplary performances impressed the judges as well as the audiences.  

86 students from 26 eminent schools of Jamshedpur participated in the competition.

50 participants from 25 schools participated in the junior category chaired by Sarita Kumari.

Junior category event was judged by Dr DK Dhanjal, Santanu Gupta and Shradha Agarwal.

In the Senior Category 38 students from 19 schools participated in debate chaired by Nalin Goel.

Judges for the senior category were Rajiv Talwar, Vivek Tulsiyan and Shamita Ahuja.

Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Director of Kerala Public Schools, Sharat Chandran in presence of Academic Director Laxmi Sharat, Principal of Kerala Public School, Kadma Sharmila Mukherjee, and headmistress Kerala Public School Kadma Alamelu Ravishankar.
