Jamshedpur, Oct 17: The seven day Agrasen Jayanti organized by Purvi Singhbhum Zila Agrawal Sammelan (PSZAS) concluded today as members of the community visited the Tatanagar Gaushala in Jugsalai and offered prayers at the Agrasen Mandir within and performed Arti. The members served jagery and other bovine food to the cows at the sheltger and distributed consecrated food among all present.
In the evening the PSZAS organized prayers and Arati at Sakchi Satyanarayan Thakurbari Temple from 6 pm. Consecrated food was then distributed among all community members present on the occasion. They offered prayers to Maharaj Agrasen and Devi Lakshmi.
The elite and senior among the Marwari community members present observed that Saturday, October 17 was an auspicious day with Maharaj Agrasen�s birth anniversary being celebrated as also it heralded the nine day worship of Goddess Bhagwati.
The PSZAS Golmuri unit today took out an early morning procession from the Shiv Mandir while the Mango unit members performed prayers and offered flowers to Maharaj Agrasen at a function organized at Rajasthan Bhawan in Mango.
The seven day festivity in celebration of Agrasen Jayanti saw various contests being organized every day for young and old and men and women. Competitions like mask painting, fancy dress, drawing, dance, cooking, Marwari songs and Antakshari evoked tremendous interest among the community members. In view of the prevailing COVID pandemic and the precautionary protocols, the competitions were organized on the electronic platform vide Zoom App. Even on the concluding day, all events were held in a manner that ensured social distancing and wearing of masks by all present.
The Marwari Yuva Manch Steel City branch�s women�s wing, Surabhi members played a vital role in organizing the events successfully over the week.
The senior members of the community present on both occasions included Dipak Bhalotia, Santosh Agrawal, Rajesh Ringasia, Pawan Agrawal, Nirmal Kabra, Ashok Modi, Purushottam Bhautika, Dharmchand Poddar, Shrawan Debuka, Banwari Khandelwal, Rajesh Ringasia, Pawan Agrawal, Shankar Mittal, Murarilal, Vivek Puria, Pramod Saraiwala etc. Team members of Marwari Yuva Manch Steel City Surbhi unit and Agarwal Yuva Manch supported in making the event successful.
