Ranchi: Members of Jharkhand Power Supply Technical Workers Association put up an agitation before the office of Jharkhand Energy Development Corporation Limited (JEDCL) at Dhurva, Ranchi, on Tuesday.
Led by the outfit president Ajay Rai, they raised slogans against the proposed franchise-based power supply system going to be introduced in Ranchi and Jamshedpur.
They demanded regularization. A physically challenged worker, Mohammad Hussain Miryasin was also present during the agitation.
State energy minister Rajendra Prasad Singh held a meeting with the general managers of all area Boards of the state electricity department at the JEDCL headquarters during the agitation.
