Over 500 school students and Jamshedpur citizens attend event
Jamshedpur, July 27: As part of the 120th birth anniversary celebration of Bharat Ratna JRD Tata, an Aero Modelling Show was organised at Gopal Maidan on Saturday.
The event aimed to educate and engage young minds by showcasing various model airplanes and highlighting Tata’s contributions to Indian aviation.

This year marks the 120th birth anniversary of JRD Tata, India’s first licensed pilot and the visionary behind Air India.

13 model planes of various sizes and types ranging from planes Diesel engines, Battery powered engines to Glow engines were on display. The team from Aero Modelling Club of Jamshedpur, Aero Modelling Club of Kolkata together and NCC cadets showcased their model planes.

Static models namely SU-30 MKI, MI-35, AVRO, C -130J, JAGUAR, MIG-26, MIG-29 were on display while control line models included PEACE MAKER (3.2 CC Diesel engine), GOLDEN ARROW (2.5 CC Glow 15 engine) and GOLDEN ARROW (3.2 CC Diesel engine).

Remote Control (RC) models included 2 SWAN models and 1 SWAT model. These exhibits were from Bengal AIR SQN NCC cadets. The event was organised by Centre for Excellence (CFE), Corporate Communication, Tata Steel which was attended by over 500 school students and citizens of Jamshedpur.

The event was graced by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President (Corporate Services), Tata Steel along with Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President (Human Resource Management), Tata Steel and Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief, Aviation Services, Tata Steel.
Chanakya Chaudhary said, the exhibition was scheduled two days earlier than usual to attract more children and citizens.

Chaudhary emphasized that the show aims to raise awareness among children about JRD Tata’s legacy and his pivotal role in Indian aviation.

Air Force officer DC Ghoshal, present at the event, expressed his hope that more students would be inspired to join the Air Force and pursue careers as pilots.
He also highlighted the comprehensive three-year training program offered to NCC cadets in the Air Force Wing in Kolkata. Graduates of this program receive a ‘C’ certificate, facilitating their entry into the armed forces.
JRD Quiz winners on helicopter joyride

Jamshedpur, July 27: JRD Tata Inter School Quiz competition winner Loyola School team, consisting of Daksh Jain and Shreyash Raj and the 1st runners up team Rajendra Vidyalaya, represented by Samparna Das and Ankit Upadhyay, were given a helicopter ride around the city in the Tata Steel helicopter on Saturday.
