Jamshedpur: The students of Khalsa Middle School, Tinplate, took out a prabhat pheri under the Vidyalaya Chalein Chalayein Abhiyan on Saturday.

Students of class IV to VII participated in the campaign which started from the school and moved through Sindhu Road, Sukhiya Road, Padma Road and Tata Line to culminate at the school.

The participants raised slogans like aadhe roti khaenge, phir bhi school jayenge (We will eat half a bread, but would still go to school) and har maa ki ek hi ichcha, bachcha payein puri shiksha (every mother has only one wish, that her children get complete education).

The students visited various households on their way and met parents to request them to send their wards to school despite all odds.

Children not admitted to any school as yet were invited to get admission in school. Members of the school management committee and the principal Navdeep Kaur were also present on the occasion.
