Jamshedpur: The district administration on Monday reviewed the security arrangements and preparedness for Narendra Modi’s rally at Gopal Maidan to ensure foolproof security during the rally on April 10.
A team of district administration led by senior superintendent of police Amol V Homkar and Dhalbhum SDO Prem Ranjan today visited Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.
Modi is expected to address an election rally in favour of party candidate from Jamshedpur seat, Vidyut Baran Mahto. As per a tentative programme the rally is scheduled around 12 noon. This will be Modi�s first rally in the entire Kolhan region.
“Although the official confirmation about the rally is yet to come to us but still we inspected the venue to ensure safety for the rally,” said Homkar.
The SSP discussed the logistics with other members of the team which also comprised officials from Tata Steel’s sports department. The administrative officials finalised the spot for construction of the stage. They also decided the various entry points and exits at the venue of the meeting.
Traffic DSP, R N Sinha said that they will prepare a road map. “Traffic is an important issue that needs to be addressed in view of the rally. We will prepare the road map and also chalking out alternative routes for traffic diversion,” he said.
State BJP spokesperson Amarpreet Singh Kale and other senior party leaders of East Singhbhum district who too inspected the venue to take stock of security arrangements, “Party activists are excited and keen to participate in Narendra Modi’s rally and that the activists from each and every block of the three districts of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan are expected to come in large numbers.”
Dhalhbum SDO Prem Ranjan informed that Gopal Maidan has a capacity of accommodating 10,000 people. Special security arrangements would be in place for the rally.
