Administration orders timely release of PMAY instalments and project completion

DC Amit Kumar reviews Swachh Bharat Mission and PMAY

Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner (DC) Amit Kumar here on Thursday directed the district authorities concerned to ensure timely disbursement of instalments to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He also ordered completion of all PMAY projects within the deadline fixed by the state government.

Speaking at a review meeting at his office, the DC said the beneficiaries of PMAY who had been given their second instalment should be allowed to enter their houses on the occasion of Jharkhand�s foundation day on 15th November.

A Grih Pravesh ceremony will be organized to mark the possession of the housing units by the beneficiaries as per the announcement made by the state government, said the DC.

The DC directed all block development officers (BDOs) of the district to make sure that the housing units built under the PMAY are ready for the Grih Pravesh ceremony.

Kumar further asked the BDOs to ensure timely reception of progress reports on the PMAY projects. The funds should be given to the beneficiaries in time, he said, adding that the BDOs should get the construction work compleed before Deepawali this year.

Kumar said the BDOs and other officials should contact the senior authorities in case they face any difficulty in achieving the goal within the deadline. He said no compromise would be made with the goal set by the government.

The DC said the housing units built under PMAY should compulsorily have toilets. The households would also be supplied with LPG connection under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. He said everyday 400 toilets should be constructed in the district in order to achieve the goal set for East Singhbhum. He said the BDOs should work sincerely to achieve the goal.

Praising the BDOs of Dhalbhumgarh, Bodam, Potka and Mosabani, the DC said they had fulfilled their commitments made during last meeting. He said funds would be allocated on demand to all the BDOs.

Among others present during the meeting included DDC Suraj Kumar, ADC Sunil Kumar, ADM Subodh Kumar, special rationing officer Bindeshwari Tatma, ITDA director B Maheshwari, SDO Dhalbhum Madhavi Mishra, NREP director Ranjana Mishra and probationary IAS officer Himanshu Mohan.
