Administration meets to make tobacco control act more effective

Jamshedpur, Feb 25: To make tobacco control act more effective a district level meeting was held at District Commissioner office called in by district tobacco control board and SEEDS (Socio Economic and Educational Development Society) on Tuesday, Feb 25. To make the ordinance act taken out by the government and make it applicable the district level committee was formed, which is led by President Dr. Amitabh Kaushal.

Along with it Civil Surgeon Dr. LBP Singh Secretary and Nodal Officer, along with the members will include SSP, ADM, SDO, District Education officer, District Public Relation officer, Agriculture officers, Municipality chiefs, Principal of Schools and colleges, representatives of non government organizations and several others will be members.

At the meet representatives of SEEDS Deepak Kumar Mishra and Pranay Kumar gave detailed information on tobacco act and the total revenue from tobacco products is 12917 crore while the people suffering from diseases after consuming tobacco give away 30000 crores on medical expenses.

Under the National Tobacco control program East Singhbhum and Dhanbad have been chosen as two model districts for the program. On the occasion DC said that educational institute should provide full support were large number of people and officers were present.
