Rajmahal: As soon as the information of vote boycott was received, there was panic in the administration. General Observer Saurav Pahari, SDO Kapil Kumar, SDPO Vimlesh Kumar Tripathi, LRDCC Vimal Kumar, BDO Uday Kumar Sinha and Teenpahar police station in-charge Mo Shahrukh reached the spot. They talked to the villagers. Everyone appealed to the villagers to participate in this great festival of democracy. Use your voting rights.
The appeal of the administrative officials had no effect on the villagers. He clearly said that every time in the election, assurance is given that Rajmahal-Teenpahar TR passenger train will stop at Murali halt, but after the election is over, it is forgotten. This time assurance will not work. Till the train does not stop at this halt, the villagers will not vote.
On the other hand, Gopinath Mandal, a government employee who came to his village from Bokaro for voting, voted at the booth with his family. Till 11 am, only 76 out of 1036 voters of booth number 176 voted, whereas booth number 177 has a total of 527 voters, out of which 14 have exercised their franchise. The administration is rejecting the claim of vote boycott, whereas no voter is going to the polling booth. Villagers say that people associated with the administration are being forced to vote. No common voter is casting vote.
Booth agent of a political party Kamal Kumar in booth number 176 has said that he has been made the election agent by the candidate. Voting starts in the presence of the election agent, but in view of the situation of vote boycott, the administration got the voting done without the election agent. This is not according to the rules. A complaint has been made to the election officer present there.
