CCTV surveillance for crime prevention
Jamshedpur, Dec. 13: Amidst the ongoing wedding season, the district administration has decided to conduct raids at wedding ceremonies to ensure that social distancing norms are in place. The administration has issued a fresh directive stating that taking out of procession in the form of Baraat cannot be allowed in view of the outbreak of pandemic Covid-19.
“Though the Covid-19 cases are under control but still we are taking precautionary measures to sure that the situation remains normal. We have asked incident commanders to stop the procession of the wedding ceremonies. Compliance of social distancing in crowded areas is absolutely necessary to prevent the spread of corona infection. We will conduct surprise inspection of the wedding ceremonies and those flouting norms will be taken into task,” said an official.
The incident commanders have been ordered to comply with guidelines of Ministry of Home Affairs. He said that wedding processions are being taken out at the wedding functions, while there is a complete ban on any kind of procession. He said that compliance of social distancing cannot be ensured in the procession. In such a situation, the concerned commanders have been instructed to make the organizers aware and issue notices from their level before such events.
Moreover, in yet another directive, the deputy commissioner has asked operators and managers of all the Hotels and Banquet Halls that no more than 200 people will be allowed in marriage and other events outside the containment Zone. Also, social distancing must be complied.
“Several violators will be nabbed during the drive. Notices will be issued against those not wearing masks nor having sanitizers at their premises. It has been advocated that wearing masks and use of hand sanitizers are compulsory for all people,” said an official. He further reiterated that social distancing should be maintained at all wedding places to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus.
With the onset of ‘Great Indian Wedding’ season this month, the city-based hotels and banquet halls are witnessing a boom time. Almost all the hotels and halls are registering brisk business these days. From halls to hotels in the city all are overloaded with customers.
For more than 30 banquet halls and more than 20 grand hotels in the city, it is peak business season and they are expecting to earn maximum profits. Not only are the ones in the top category, middle rung hotels, too are doing a brisk business.
