Jamshedpur, Mar 25: After freeing the Khasmahal land from encroachers the district administration is making efforts so that land mafias do not encroach on it again and the administration has already allotted the land to minor irrigation department, Biscoman and Parsudih Bazar Samity.
The East Singhbhum district administration is planning to write to these departments through the Jamshedpur circle officer to undertake fencing and construction of boundary walls of the lands and also ensure that there is no encroachment on these lands.
At the moment, Parsudih police is monitoring on the land to prevent it from being encroached.
Incidentally, around 20 days before administration had started an anti-encroachment drive on this land but soon after the police and district administration left the site, land mafias had again returned to encroach on the land which made administration and police to take up efforts once again to free it from being encroached.
Administration also freed land in Sundernagar and Golpahari area from encroachment and there are still vast stretches of land in Sundernagar which have been encroached.
It is also being said that the land which was freed from encroachment in Sundernagar and Golpahari a few days back has not been fenced and it is expected that encroachers will again encroach these plots of lands soon.
Administrative officials claim that they do not dedicate funds for fencing and demarcation of the lands but the administration is keeping a close vigil on these plot of lands and has threatened to take action against the encroachers.
Around 70 persons were detained at Parsudih thana on Wednesday for encroaching on government land.
