Seraikela: Adivasi Moolbasi Bhumi Raksha Samiti has strongly protested dumping of human wastes (nightsoil) on agricultural land in village Palubera, Gamharia.
The Samiti said that the wastes dumped by Adityapur Municipal Council have triggered risks of soil and water pollution.
In a memorandum to DC, Seraikela the Samiti said that Adityapur Municipal Council has identified 3 acres of land on plot no 664 aat Palubera Mauza for dumping human wastes.
The village is populated by Adivasis and Moolbasis who depend on agriculure for their livelihood. The dumping of wastes has triggered the risk of ground water pollution.
The wastes would be contaminated ponds and water sources in the area.
The dumping will also cause health zadards in the area. Sangram Mardi of he Samiti urged the administration to stop dumping of wastes.
