Jamshedpur: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Mahasabha staged a one-day demonstration at Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA) Building in Adityapur on Thursday. They alleged that land acquisition was still on in the state against the land acquisition laws of Jharkhand. Notwithstanding amendments in the law, land acquisition is going on in an illegal manner, they said.
The outfit members said the lands of many Adivasis were acquitted by the state government in the name of setting up industries way back in 1971. But till date, the land owners were neither given jobs nor compensation by the government. The displaced people were not rehabilitated under the displacement policy of the state government, they said.
