Jamshedpur: Starting April 1, 2025, Adityapur Railway Station is set to become a new hub for long-distance train services, aiming to alleviate congestion at Tatanagar Junction. This strategic move by the Chakradharpur Division will see several express and passenger trains originating from Adityapur, enhancing connectivity for passengers traveling towards Chakradharpur, Chaibasa and Chandil.

To accommodate the increased passenger traffic, significant infrastructural developments have been undertaken at Adityapur station. The construction of a new station building has been completed and platforms 1 and 2 are now fully operational. Additional amenities, including waiting halls, ticket counters and restrooms, have been established to ensure passenger comfort.

Further enhancements are in progress to elevate the station’s facilities. Plans include the installation of elevators and escalators to assist senior citizens and differently-abled passengers in accessing platforms with ease. The station will also feature multiple stalls and a restaurant on wheels to cater to the diverse needs of travellers.

The station’s transformation into a terminal for several trains is part of a broader initiative to distribute rail traffic more efficiently across the region. Trains destined for Asanbani, Kharagpur and Hijli will continue to operate from Tatanagar, while those heading towards Chakradharpur, Chaibasa and Chandil will commence from Adityapur.
