Adityapur Community Centre wins U-16 cricket tournament

Jamshedpur: In an endeavour to encourage young players, an Inter-Centre Cricket Tournament (U/16-Boys) was organised at LIC Ground Kadma, on 27 February and 4 March 2019. The tournament served as a platform for 12 teams competing and showcasing their potential. Nearly 140 players participated in the tournament. Adityapur Community Centre was declared the winner of the tournamnet and Baridih Community Centre ended as runner-up. Kasidih Commnuity Centre bagged the third place.� Aakash Mahato� of Adityapur Community Centre won the man of the match award. ��� :

Nav Kant Jha, Union Committee Member, Tata Workers Union and Area Officer, Dhatkidih Community Centre, Urban Services, CSR, Tata Steel, graced the ocassion as the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony and awarded prizes to the winners and runner-up teams.

Gurbari Hembram, Manager, Urban Services, Bipul Kumar, N C Das, C S Murmu, Birdhan Marandi, Area Officers Urban Services and staff members were present during the function.

Tata Steel�s Urban Services imparts regular training in various sporting disciplines across all of its twelve community centres such as Boxing, Volleyball, Karate, Football, Cricket etc. Such trainings help in identifying and nurturing latent sports talents and also provide constructive guidance to the youth. To inculcate a healthy spirit of competitiveness, the Urban Services unit organises inter-centre events that also helps the budding players to prepare for performance at state and national level competition.
