Active case finding campaign for TB kicks off in Baharagora

Baharagora: District health department on Wednesday launched a campaign to identify active cases of tuberculosis in the various villages of Baharagora. Free medicines would be provided to those diagnosed with symptoms of TB, said Dr Om Prakash Choudhary of Community Health Centre, Baharagora.

The campaign will continue till 19th September. It was inaugurated by Dr Choudhary jointly with Rewati Nayak, Mukhiya of Rajla Bandh panchayat.

Dr Choudhary said TB patients would be freely examined and treated by the health department. He said such patients should be linked to government hospitals. Even if private clinics treat such patients, they should inform the health department about such cases, he said.

The Sahiyas of anganbari centres of Baharagora were given training on identifying TB patients.

Among others present on the occasion included Dhananjay Mahato, Krishnendu Ghosh, Purnima Bera, Meenu Sahu, Geta Nayak, Chandana Sheet and Putul Rana.
