Action to be taken against loco pilot: Chakradharpur DRM

Jamshedpur, Feb 19: The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Chakradharpur, Ajay J Rathore has said that action would be taken against the pilot of the goods train that derailed near Salgajhari halt. He said the loco pilot most probably dozed off on duty and missed the red signal, leading to the derailment of the train. Fog may be another reason behind the derailment, said the DRM.

The DRM said action may also be taken against other people, if found guilty in the case. He said the probe report regarding the derailment incidenthad not been submitted even after two days of the incident. An inquiry committee has begun interrogation of the accused loco pilot. The guard has also been asked to appear before the committee. The derailment of goods train had taken place on 7.30 am. Consequently, Rail traffic was affected for around an hour, officials said.
