Absconding Maoist sympathizer nabbed in Seraikela

Jamshedpur, May 30 :  The suspected CPI-Maoist  sympathiser, Shambhu Majhi who had fled the Seraikela Sadar Hospital on Wednesday morning was nabbed from a relative’s house in Seraikela on Thursday. Shambhu (20) was arrested from Simalbera village under Seraikela police station area at about 4 am today. 

The accused is a resident of Jankipur in Seraikela and has sustained a deep wound in the waist. He is suspected to have been involved in the serial IED blasts taken place in Suru dam construction site at Kharsawan on May 20.

Revealing about the breakthrough, Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police, Chandan Sinha said that Sambhu was arrested along with a hand-cuff and rope from one of his relatives house at Simalbera where he had taken shelter having fled the judicial custody. 

A senior police officer revealed that they are also trying to find out during the interrogation that if any of the six policemen who were posted for keeping an eye on Shambhu was involved in making him to flee the Seraikela Sadar Hospital on Wednesday.

The police are also trying to establish whether Shambhu had any hand behind IED explosion by the Maoist rebels at a hill-top in Kuchai under the Kharsawan thana area on May 28. As Shambhu was injured, the police had put him in the Seraikela Sadar Hospital under tight security vigil.  Six policemen were on guard at the Sadar Hospital to keep eye on the arrested person, but the accused had managed to flee with hand-cuff and the rope at about 4.5 am on Wednesday.
