Jamshedpur, Feb. 24: The third line under the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway (SER) is a significant project for the railways. The project, extending from Jharsuguda to Adityapur and again from Dangoaposi to Adityapur, is nearing completion.
South Eastern Railway general manager Ashish Kumar Goyal inspected the third line on Wednesday and confirmed that 70 percent work has been completed. He said that the Railways is showing hyperactivity for early completion of the project. According to Goyal, the third line will help to increase movement of goods train and timely operation of passenger trains.
The third is also important in view of increasing revenue for the division. Goyal also inspected section and the railway station in the Chakradharpur division. He reached Tatanagar in Howrah-Ahmadabad Express and went for inspection with the officials.
Later in the evening, Goyal held a meeting with Tata Steel officers, Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato and local MLAs. He said that the Railways have plans to inaugurate the third line by April end.
According to railway sources, the major benefit will be for passenger trains, as their movement will increase. As of now, goods and passengers train run in same up-down lines and due to goods train passengers train face trouble.
One train is stopped and other is passed, thereby consuming a lot of time. After the third line is inaugurated, passenger trains will not have to wait for getting line cleared.
