JWC observes Youth Day on Vivekananda birth anniversery

Jamshedpur, Jan. 16: Jamshedpur Women�s College (JWC) organized Youth Day to mark the birth anniversary of our national idol Swami Vivekananda on Saturday at the college premises. The theme of the programme was Yug Nayak.

The chief guest for the program was Swami Amritrupanand, secretary of Ram Krishna Mission Vivekanand Society, Jamshedpur. The program moved forward with a welcome speech by the principal, Dr. Sujata Sinha.

A number of cultural events like skits showing the glimpses of Vivekananda�s life were performed by the students of M.Ed department. Dance, song and other colorful events were performed by the B.Ed, Bangla, music and Oriya Departments of the college.

The members of the student union also spoke on the occasion illustrating Swamiji�s views in the various aspects of life. The HoD of the Oriya Department, Dr. Manoj Mahapatra also expressed his views on Swami Vivekananda�s philosophy.

The chief guest expressed his thoughts on the relevance of Vivekananda�s philosophy in the present context as well as in the centuries to come. He also emphasized the role of a leader and how a leader can generate power in others.
The chief guest also distributed the certificates among the participants.

The program was attended by the students and faculty of B.Ed., M.Ed., Bangla, Oriya, English and other departments. Dr. Joohi Samarpita, the HoD of M.Ed. department, wound up the program by presenting the vote of thanks. Dr. Tripura Jha, Dr. Sanatan Deep, Dr. Sutapa Biswas, Dr. Sanjoy Bhuiyan, Manoj Kumar, Sudha Deep�s efforts made the program a success.
