Sex racket busted in Sitaramdera, four women and two youths arrested

Jamshedpur, Dec. 27: A police team busted a sex racket from a house near the Radio Maidan under Sitaramdera police station area this afternoon.

The team nabbed four young women and two youths. A 35-year-old man, K Narayan Rao, who was running the racket succeeded to escape arrest, but the police have nabbed Rao’s wife Mina Devi who was also present at the spot.

According to police, the sex-racket was being run at the house of Surjan Singh, a former Tata Steel employee. The house owner was away in Punjab.

Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera police station RamjiMahto today said that Rao who would earlier stay at a rented house in Parsudih had taken a portion of Singh’s house near Radio Maidan on rent on November 1.

” As per information gathered on November 6, Singh had left for Punjab for attending a marriage ceremony asking the tenant to look after his house, but the latter took advantage of the situation and used his rooms for running the sex racket. Singh has returned back to the city on Friday ” saidMahto.

According to the officer-in-charge, three of the women, all in the age group between 22 – 24 years were directly involved in the sex racket, where as the fourth woman Mina Devi was assisting her husband in running the racket. The two youths who were arrested along with the women were in their mid-twenties.

The police recovered bottles of liquor and also a large number of contraceptives from the rooms which was being used by Rao.

All the six accused have been arrested under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and sent to the Ghaghidih Central Jail after their production before a judicial magistrate
